It was an afternoon dedicated to music and dance as 30 enthusiastic dancers from the city came together for a parade titled Heart Festrecently. Fascinated by glamorous reality shows, these amateur dancers showcased genres as varied as Bollywood style, hip-hop, abstract and jazz. And judging this enthusiastic bunch were twins Prayag and Prayas, dancers/actors who have been working under the guidance of Remo D’souza in Mumbai and have done many TV shows.
The duo traces its roots to Dewas and since it is quite close to Indore, they would often come to the city for events earlier. Speaking to us about their current visit, they said, “It feels nice to come back to our roots and that too, as judges. This dance competition is only reminding us of our days in Indore when we used to participate, just like these kids. We have been part of a series of competitions and that struggle helped us grow, giving us the confidence to move to Mumbai.”
Talking about Indore, they added, “This city has a different charm. The love and opportunities that we got in Indore were extraordinary. In 2005, when we moved to Mumbai, the struggle didn’t look that difficult. We just threw ourselves in to dance and learned every possible thing we could .”
